Turkmenistan has launched a new phase of the Galkynysh gas field development. It is among the largest natural gas fields in the world in terms of reserves. The fourth phase of the project includes the drilling of new wells and the construction of a high-tech facility for additional processing of up to 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. The project is being implemented as part of Turkmen-Chinese cooperation and aims to strengthen the country’s export potential.
«We are marking the 20th anniversary of energy cooperation between China and Turkmenistan. Within this partnership, a gas project is being implemented on the right bank of the Amu Darya. The annual volume of natural gas trade between the two countries continues to grow steadily,» noted Liu Chengyun, Officer at the Turkmenistan Branch of CNPC International.
«With the
construction of this complex, facilities designed to process 10 billion cubic
meters of commercial natural gas per year will be commissioned. This will
further advance Turkmenistan’s natural gas production potential and contribute
to the development of the sector,» said Aman
Hasiyetov, Engineer at the State Concern «Türkmengaz».
