Kazakhstan will start blocking spoof numbers and introduce biometric identification for registering mobile numbers. This was announced by Kazakh Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry. According to Bagdat Mussin, joint work is being carried out with the internal affairs bodies in this direction. Kazakh Internal Affairs Ministry stated that in recent years, cases of fraud attempts via the Internet and telephone have been growing. If there were only 1,000 crimes in 2016, then last year 21,000 cases were recorded. Since the beginning of this year, more than 11,700 cases have been recorded. At present, telecom operators are developing and implementing a model for cooperation against unauthorized traffic.
