The Kazakh
capital is hosting a thematic exhibition dedicated to the Republic Day. It includes
dozens of exhibits from museum, archival and library collections, among which
are photographs, newsreel footage, documents, sculptures and state awards. The
central exhibit is a copy of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan,
adopted on October 25, 1990. According to experts, that document is the
starting point for the country’s political, economic and social transformation
and symbolizes the beginning of a new era in the history of Independent
Kazakhstan.
“The establishment of the Presidency
institution, fortification of the state border, formation of the armed forces and
affirmation of our country’s state international status on the global stage, of
course, have significant confirmation through fund exhibits. These materials
reflect the political history of our country, which is very important for
further determining the landmarks and stages of the statehood formation,” said
Botagoz Kaipova, the deputy director of the Presidential Center of the Republic
of Kazakhstan.
