The
foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia are scheduled to hold talks in
Almaty on May 10. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has previously urged
for the prompt resolution of relations between the two states and ensuring
stability and security in the South Caucasus region. During his official visit
to Yerevan in April, the Head of State underscored that Kazakhstan, as a firm
advocate of negotiations for achieving peace and reconciliation, is ready to
support all efforts in this direction. President Tokayev also noted the
symbolic significance of the upcoming meeting in Almaty, where the historic
declaration was signed in December 1991, solidifying the foundations for the
independent development of the CIS countries and principles for determining
interstate borders.
