Kazakh President takes part in 12th Summit of Organization of Turkic States

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, held in Gabala, Azerbaijan. He emphasized that the OTS has become an influential and respected organization uniting the friendly Turkic nations and attracting interest from many countries. President Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s support for the idea of establishing an OTS+ format, which would expand cooperation and strengthen the organization’s international standing.

The main goal of the OTS is to strengthen stability and peace in the region. President Tokayev noted that the Turkic nations have developed effective cooperation in countering various threats. However, he emphasized that it is essential not to rest on these achievements. The member states must work together to confront a new, borderless challenge – cyberattacks. According to the Head of State, this can be achieved through the establishment of a Cybersecurity Council within the Organization. He also stressed that the foundation of stability and prosperity among the Turkic nations lies in economic cooperation. President Tokayev called for a focus on the full implementation of the Turkic World Vision 2040 program and highlighted the importance of leveraging the potential of the Turkic Investment Fund. In addition, he underscored the need to further develop transport and logistics connectivity, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
