Artificial intelligence will assist judges of the Constitutional Court. This was announced at the International Forum on Constitutional Justice Peace and the Future through Law. According to experts, a special portal is currently being developed to help search for materials and suggest possible solutions, taking into account the practices of foreign Constitutional Courts and international organizations. However, as before, the final decision will remain with the judges. In addition, the portal will simplify the submission of citizens’ appeals. At present, appeals are accepted through other channels such as e-Otinish and eGov. The plan is to integrate all of these.
«AI elements have already been introduced in courts of
general jurisdiction, enabling each judge to analyze claims and review judicial
practice across the country for the relevant category of cases. We plan to
implement the same approach in our work when considering appeals, analyze constitutional
practice in other states, as well as the practices of international judicial
and human rights institutions, along with those of human rights organizations
in Kazakhstan,» noted Bakyt Nurmukhanov, Deputy Chairman of Kazakhstan’s
Constitutional Court.
