Kazakhstan plans to focus on implementing artificial
intelligence in the Eurasian Economic Union’s (EAEU) operational areas. The
country has chaired the EAEU’s bodies since January 1. Prime Minister Olzhas
Bektenov announced this at an expanded meeting of the Eurasian
Intergovernmental Council in Shymkent. Priority areas include customs
administration, logistics, industry, and the agro-industrial complex. To fully
unlock the transit and transport potential of EAEU countries, Kazakhstan
proposed creating an integrated AI-powered cargo flow coordination platform.
This will reduce delivery times, lower costs, and increase the competitiveness
of Eurasian transport corridors.
«Kazakhstan has set a strategic goal of becoming a fully-fledged digital country. A modern ecosystem has been formed, a key element of which is the Astana Hub—the largest international technopark for IT startups in Central Asia. The Alem.ai International Artificial Intelligence Center has opened, combining education, research, and support for innovative projects. Kazakhstan is ready to share knowledge and experience with EAEU partners in digital regulation and economic transformation,» Bektenov said.
Furthermore, it was proposed to fully convert veterinary
and phytosanitary control confirmation processes to an electronic format. This
will ensure transparency in mutual trade. Participants also focused on
expanding trade and economic cooperation and entering new foreign markets.
Promising areas include countries in the Arab world, Southeast Asia, and
Africa. Following the meeting, the parties signed 12 documents aimed at
promoting integration and strengthening the economies of EAEU member states.
