In Pavlodar, a floral composition was created to mark the
180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbaiuly’s birth. It was installed in the
courtyard of one of the city’s schools. The school staff chose this gesture as
a tribute to the great Kazakh poet and thinker.
«The main goal of the floral composition is to preserve
Abai’s legacy, promote his wisdom and civic values, and pass them on to the
younger generation. The arrangement includes symbolic elements inspired by the
works of the great poet. All of this was carefully conveyed through flowers and
plants,» said Elmira Uakhitova, Deputy Director of School No. 25 in Pavlodar.
The celebration of Abai’s anniversary in Kazakhstan will
begin on August 1 and last for ten days. In the region named after the poet,
more than 100 events are planned. The festivities will kick off with the launch
of the encyclopedic portal Abay Academiyasy. As part of the 180th anniversary
of the great poet, there will be concerts, a folk crafts festival, a poetry
competition for young akyns, book presentations, and much more. The celebration
will conclude on August 10 with a gala concert featuring stars of Kazakh pop
music.
