A research center, «The History of Medieval
Kazakhstan», will be established in the country. Its focus will be the study of
the nation's chronicles from the third to the 18th century. Initially, a group
of specialists will be formed to translate ancient manuscripts and archival
documents collected from foreign museums and libraries. Linguists will need to
be proficient in Arabic, Persian, Chagatai, Hansu, and Mungyl to conduct
precise analyses of ancient records. Additionally, domestic scholars are
expected to participate in international scientific expeditions to study
manuscripts on-site. The center will also aim to integrate the results of these
studies on the country’s history into scientific discourse.
«Earlier, as part of the «Madeni Mura»
program (Cultural Heritage), several thousand ancient manuscripts were brought
into the country. However, not all of them have been fully studied so far.
Today, we can expand our research efforts as we live in the age of information.
We are now actively engaged in studying archives remotely, developing a work
plan, accessing library and museum portals, reviewing catalogs and
bibliographic indexes, and searching for additional information,» noted Omirbai
Bekmagambetov, Dean of the History Department at the Gumilyov Eurasian National
University.
