Kazakh officials plan to reimburse employers part of the salary of employees of pre-retirement age. According to Kazakh Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, it is quite difficult to find a job for Kazakh citizens who are two or three years away from a well-deserved rest. The relevant department promised to develop a new project “Silver Age” to solve the problem. This will allow the government to cover for the employer a certain amount of salary of an elderly employee who is close to a pension. Kazakh residents, in turn, concurred that such an initiative is very timely and necessary.
“If there is such an opportunity, why not take advantage of it. Employers do not hire young people without experience, while the experience of people of pre-retirement age can be very useful. I support this project,” said a Kazakh resident.
“The closer the retirement age is, the more often job applications are denied. Employers say that they need energetic young people. If the state provides the support, then, of course, some companies would be able to hire elderly people,” noted another citizen.
“It is especially hard for older people to find a job when they move somewhere. In this case, this program could help,” added another resident.
The ministry also acknowledged that Kazakh youth, namely young people under the age of 25, are now experiencing serious problems with finding a job.
