Development and commercialization of innovations in Kazakhstan

In 2025, Kazakhstan will launch a program to support the commercialization of startups. This initiative will foster the development of unique products and innovative technologies in the country. One such enterprise, a refined selenium production facility, began operations in 2023. Its technology enables the production of high-purity selenium with a content exceeding 99.5%. Plans for the coming years include expanding production capacity and introducing new methods for processing selenium-containing materials. Kazakhstan is also actively holding competitions to commercialize the results of scientific and technological activities. As a result, the export of scientific products has exceeded 570 million tenge. Additionally, the announced competition for 2025-2027 under the Zhas Galym program will ensure the further development of the country’s scientific potential. Notably, since 2021, young scientists have implemented over 2,000 projects, nearly a third of which focus on advancing engineering knowledge and academic research in technology.
