Kazakhstan and Türkiye are implementing 50 joint investment projects worth nearly $4 billion. In addition, around 100 projects have already been launched in sectors including construction, light industry, metallurgy, deep processing of agricultural products, transport and logistics, and pharmaceutical production. As part of new joint initiatives, Kazakhstan is ready to provide industrial platforms and government support tools. This was discussed during the 14th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. Transport cooperation also shows steady growth. Last year, rail freight between Kazakhstan and Türkiye increased by 35%. More than 4 million tonnes of cargo were transported via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. Further development of the corridor remains a shared priority. Overall, infrastructure modernization, digital solutions, and coordinated tariff policies have increased cargo flows along the Trans-Caspian route fivefold over the past seven years. Following the meeting, the parties signed a joint action plan covering multiple areas of cooperation.
«Trade turnover between the two countries increased by 9% last year. Of this, exports of Kazakh goods rose by more than 17.7%, reaching $3.9 billion. The Government of Kazakhstan is interested in joint efforts to diversify the structure of trade, with a focus on high value-added products. We have the capacity to achieve these goals and are ready to make all necessary efforts,» said Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
«In
recent years, Kazakhstan and Türkiye have implemented around 10 joint projects with a total value of
approximately $400 million. These projects focus on the cultivation and
processing of agricultural crops, as well as confectionery production. In
addition, we are currently working on the implementation of five major
investment projects worth over $1 billion,» said Yermek
Kenzhekhanuly, Kazakh Vice Minister of
Agriculture.
