Kazakh athletes prepare to take part in World Nomad Games

Kazakh athletes are preparing for the fifth World Nomad Games with the support of leading domestic specialists in sports psychology and medicine. The second team of scientists, including veterinarians, biologists, and geneticists, is engaged in monitoring the horses, with the primary focus on their condition during the competitions, as well as adjusting their diet, and administering vitamin therapy. The work is being carried out with domestic teams participating in kokpar (symbiosis of horse racing and wrestling), tenge ilu (picking up coins on a horse), audaryspak (horseback wrestling), zhamby atu (archery on horses), and traditional archery.

«The members of the integrated research group intend to commence their work starting today. We aim to thoroughly prepare athletes for the World Nomad Games, scheduled to take place in Astana this September. We will conduct monitoring of their functional and mental state, as well as their physical conditioning,» said Anatoly Kulnazarov, head of integrated research group, professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences.

«Another group is directly involved with sport horses. Currently, research is underway to assess the functional state of the animals, their training, and endurance. All these efforts will contribute to achieving favorable results in the upcoming competitions,» said Nurken Baiburiyev, Kazakh national equestrian sports coach.
