China hosts 13th Global Video Media Forum

The 13th Global Video Media Forum took place in Xi’an, China, bringing together diplomats, leaders of international organizations, and top media companies from 40 countries. Among the delegates were representatives from Kazakhstan, including Yerkezhan Kuntugan, Managing Director of the Jibek Joly/Silk Way TV Channel of the President’s TV and Radio Complex. During the forum, participants of the Global South Media Partners Mechanism—a new platform for media collaboration—held a dedicated meeting. The platform is designed to deepen practical cooperation, support joint projects, facilitate content exchange, and promote mutual learning. It also aims to strengthen dialogue and build an equitable, multipolar global communications framework. Delegates agreed not only to co-produce content but also to broadcast each other’s programs. To facilitate the sharing of high-quality content, the Global South Media Nexus platform was proposed. Additionally, media representatives will focus on applying AI technologies to enhance the technological capabilities of media in Global South countries.
