In the North Kazakhstan region, monitoring of steppe territories is
being intensified with the use of drones. Equipped with artificial intelligence
elements, these drones enable real-time aerial surveillance, allowing for rapid
response to fire hazards. With the onset of the fire-prone season, emergency
services have switched to an enhanced mode of operation. Aerial monitoring and
AI technologies help personnel from the Emergency Situations Department detect
risks at an early stage and prevent the spread of fires. Drones equipped with
infrared cameras have proven particularly effective. They are capable of
detecting fire hotspots even at night. When smoke is detected, the system
automatically sends an alert to the operations control center. Currently,
around 20 AI-powered drones are deployed in the region, and they have already
become a reliable tool for firefighting units.
