Journalists from the Chinese TV channel CGTN conducted a
media tour across Kazakhstan. In
collaboration with the team from Jibek Joly/Silk Way TV channel, they prepared
a series of reports about life in Almaty and the landmarks of the Almaty
region. The episode about Kazakhstan will be aired on the Chinese international
channel in three languages – Kazakh, Russian and English. The journalists
wrapped up their work at one of Almaty’s most iconic locations – Medeu.
«Overall, we really enjoyed our time in Almaty. It’s a very
modern city, beautifully surrounded by mountains and stunning scenery. I wanted
to film a report on China-Kazakhstan cooperation in sustainable development, and
I succeeded. I visited the city of Konayev and captured some great footage
there. We also planned to shoot landscapes, so we went to Medeu and then to
Koktobe yesterday, where we worked very productively as well,» shared CGTN
correspondent Rizagul Gulgina.
As the head of the expedition team noted, this was not just
a media tour but a cultural and historical rapprochement between the two
countries. The journalists had the opportunity to learn about the daily lives of
Kazakh people and hear fascinating stories firsthand. The Chinese colleagues also
shared their impressions and openly expressed admiration for the country’s natural
beauty and hospitality.
«The amazing trip like this one would be very rare in my
future career. So, I cherish this trip very much. And I believe my colleagues
and I would bring back a lot of interesting stories to air both on TV and
internet. I am very much looking forward to a very good influence of these
stories on the internet, on the media, so that the rest of the world can
witness our friendship,» noted Xu Zhaoqun, Vice Director of CGTN’s Culture
Department.
