One can now learn about prominent figures in Kazakh culture
and history on public transport. Bus passengers in Astana have the opportunity
to listen to audio stories about the lives and work of talented Kazakh
individuals. The new educational project, aimed at promoting national heritage,
currently operates on 84 routes and covers over 500 buses in the capital.
According to the organizers, public transport has become not just a convenient
means of travel, but also a platform for cultural and educational development.
«We have selected 55 outstanding figures of the Kazakh
people, with short audio messages of 20 to 30 seconds prepared about each of
them. The initiative has been received very positively and warmly by the public,
as clearly reflected in the reactions shared on social media. This is not just
about spreading information, but about popularizing the names of those who have
made a significant contribution to the culture and history of our country,» noted
the head of the Language Development and Archival Affairs Department of Astana
Saken Yessirkep.
Our crew witnessed the positive emotions of residents and guests
of the capital firsthand. Passengers on route 66 openly expressed their
interest in the new project.
«It’s great that they are telling stories about the Kazakh
khans and outstanding figures of the country. Such projects help foster a love
for the national culture.»
«When I first heard these audio stories, I was really
pleased. First of all, it’s patriotic. Secondly, it’s educational for the
younger generation and others.»
«I believe that such audio stories should be broadcast more
frequently on buses. This helps people learn more about our history, and such
initiatives contribute to gaining knowledge about outstanding individuals. I
also think they foster the growth of patriotism.»
