Astana mayor briefs Kazakh President on capital’s development

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Astana mayor Zhenis Kassymbek who reported on the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the capital. Over the first seven months, investment in fixed assets exceeded one trillion tenge, and 55 investment projects worth 300 billion tenge are expected to be implemented by year-end. In addition, 15 schools will be commissioned, 170 courtyards and public spaces will be improved, and about one million trees will be planted. The Head of State was also informed about the commissioning of the first stage of CHP-3 and gas-fired plants, which have increased the city’s thermal capacity by one-third. President Tokayev gave a number of instructions.

«Plans are in place to commission 5 million square meters of housing by the end of this year. This will bring new investments and new permanent jobs. In addition, the Head of State was briefed on preparations for the heating season. The main preparatory work is being carried out locally and will be completed next month Kassymbek said.
