Astana hosts exhibition of wartime manuscripts

A unique exhibition is currently on display at the National Archive of Kazakhstan, featuring letters from the front. Among these valuable documents are a letter from Bauyrzhan Momyshuly to wartime writer Malik Gabdullin, as well as the diary and poems of poet and war veteran Muzafar Alimbayev. The yellowed pages reveal their emotions, inner experiences, longing for their parents, and hope for the future. According to experts, these handwritten wartime documents serve as a silent message to the younger generation about the importance of peace and harmony. Special care is taken to preserve such valuable materials.

«Letters and documents from the war years are carefully preserved under controlled temperature conditions in our specialized storage facilities. These yellowed sheets of paper have literally absorbed the scent and imprint of war, as they were written during that time. We present these materials to the younger generation and share the stories behind them,» noted Assiya Kerimtayeva, Head of the Department for work with documents of personal origin at the National Archive of Kazakhstan.
