An international dog show featuring all breeds was held in Astana. As part of the event, a mono-breed exhibition of Kazakh Tazy dogs was organized. Experts evaluated the dogs based on their appearance and examined their pedigree and breed purity records. According to specialists, Kazakh greyhounds are known for their adaptability to hunting, low maintenance, and gentle nature. Currently, there are around 3,000 Tazy dogs officially registered with the Kazakh Union of Cynologists. The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) is expected to make a decision on the official recognition of the Kazakh breed in September. Overall, the international exhibition featured dogs not only from Kazakhstan but also from neighboring countries.
«The exhibition is one way to promote the Tazy breed. Additionally, as part of this exhibition, we evaluate dogs without pedigrees that have the opportunity to undergo examination, and based on the results, we issue the corresponding international-standard documents,» said Bauyrzhan Serikkali, President of the Kazakh Union of Cynologists.
