Kazakh school students are increasingly being invited to study at the world’s leading universities. Thus, a schoolboy from Nur-Sultan Danat Duisenbekov has received offers from five prestigious foreign universities. He was spotted thanks to his impressive list of victories in international mathematics competitions. The young man is currently in the process of choosing not only his future alma mater, but also a future profession.
“In 2019 and 2020, I took part in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). I won silver and bronze. I am pretty sure that I was accepted into foreign universities because I took part in major olympiads, since it is a good achievement. I will probably choose the University of Cambridge,” said Danat Duisenbekov.
Kibriyanur Abdugafarova has also been invited by the world’s top universities to study in the United States, Canada and South Korea. She plans to commit her future to chemistry. Abdugafarova won gold medals at the national olympiads for several years in a row. After she took third place at the International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad, she was included in the Kazakh national team.
“I’m still deciding. Their deadlines until when I can answer them are still open. I have a lot of options, so I am still thinking which one to choose. This is a very difficult choice. Because one day I don’t want to look back and think: “Oh, I could have made a better choice.” That’s why I take my time to think it over,” shared Abdugafarova.
