Kazakhstan will introduce artificial intelligence to forecast economic development processes. This will improve the effectiveness of public policy, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said at a government meeting. AI will rapidly process data and assess the situation. The initiative will be implemented as part of the nationwide strategy «Digital Qazaqstan». According to experts, by 2030 the contribution of AI to the global economy will exceed $22 trillion. The meeting also focused on the development of computing capacity. Bektenov emphasized the importance of attracting investors to implement the Data Center Valley project in Pavlodar Region, so that limited capacity does not become a constraining factor in the future. The relevant ministry has been instructed to propose legislative improvements to stimulate the development of cloud service providers in Kazakhstan.
«The development of
infrastructure plays a key role in the effective use of AI. Our country hosts
the region’s largest supercomputer clusters — Alem.Cloud and AL Farabium — which are included in
the global TOP500 ranking. We are seeing a growing number of requests from
government agencies and businesses for access to supercomputing resources to
develop AI solutions. This indicates the need to expand current capacity and
establish a flexible policy for allocating such resources,» Bektenov
said.
