Kazakhstan’s referendum has drawn significant
attention from international media, with more than 200 foreign journalists from
over 30 countries covering the vote.
Reuters highlighted the key points of the new
Constitution: the transition to a unicameral parliament—Kurultai—and the
restoration of the post of vice president.
Chinese media, including CGTN, praised the excellent
preparation for the referendum and emphasized that the voting process was
transparent and well-organized. Support for the Basic Law demonstrates the
maturity of the political system and a high level of civic engagement.
Xinhua published an extensive article noting that
Kazakhstan’s new Constitution strengthens the rule of law and protects
citizens’ rights and freedoms. The document marks a transition toward a new,
modern, and dynamic model of governance.
Meanwhile, Turkish broadcaster TRT World reported a
high turnout of Kazakh voters in the referendum and their support for the
document. According to the report, this reflects public interest in the
country’s future development.
Italy’s Agenzia Nova emphasized that the new
Constitution was developed with broad public and expert participation. The
document enshrines sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity as
immutable values.
