93% of textbooks digitized in Kazakhstan

Digitalization of education is well underway in Kazakhstan, with 93 percent of school textbooks having been converted into electronic format. According to the Kazakh Ministry of Education, they have undergone state expertise and are included in the list of educational and methodological complexes. 11 publishing houses in the country were involved in the development of electronic textbooks. Methodological recommendations were provided to encourage teachers to implement innovative teaching approaches. Teachers conduct lessons using modern digital technologies and online communications, enhancing their knowledge of using online resources. Besides, work is underway to establish modern classrooms for robotics, STEM, chemistry, physics and biology, which are currently available in nearly 1,000 schools. It bears noting that subject classrooms have been established in the Akmola, Aktobe, Kostanai, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions as well as in Shymkent city.
