Digitalization of education is
well underway in Kazakhstan, with 93 percent of school textbooks having been
converted into electronic format. According to the Kazakh Ministry of
Education, they have undergone state expertise and are included in the list of
educational and methodological complexes. 11 publishing houses in the country
were involved in the development of electronic textbooks. Methodological
recommendations were provided to encourage teachers to implement innovative
teaching approaches. Teachers conduct lessons using modern digital technologies
and online communications, enhancing their knowledge of using online resources.
Besides, work is underway to establish modern classrooms for robotics, STEM,
chemistry, physics and biology, which are currently available in nearly 1,000
schools. It bears noting that subject classrooms have been established in the
Akmola, Aktobe, Kostanai, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions as
well as in Shymkent city.
