Kazakhstan exported
over 146,000 tonnes of sunflower oil in the first half of the year, marking a
30 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022, according to the
country’s Ministry of Agriculture. Last year, the country shipped 230,000
tonnes of products to foreign markets, nearly doubling the amount from 2021.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan is set to boost its refined oil production. To this end,
it is planned to implement a series of investment projects, as a result of
which, the oil refining capacity is expected to reach around 600,000 tonnes by
the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026. There are also plans to increase
foreign exchange earnings from exports. In the previous year, commodity
producers earned $520 million, and this year, the figure is projected to exceed
$600 million.
