The 12th summit of the
Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States has opened in
the Azerbaijani city of Gabala. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is taking
part in the event. The agenda focuses on enhancing cooperation in economic,
trade, transport, humanitarian, and other fields. Established in 2009, the OTS
brings together Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan. Currently, Kazakhstan’s trade
turnover with member states exceeds $11 billion, while the total trade turnover
among the countries surpasses $1 trillion.
