Year of Kazakhstan Tourism kicks off in China

On March 28-29, Beijing will host the opening ceremony of the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China. A Kazakh delegation of 400 people, including cultural figures, musicians and business people, arrived in the Chinese capital. The program includes the Kazakh-Chinese forum on tourism and investment development and a concert featuring such domestic performers as Roza Rymbayeva, Zarina Altynbayeva and Maira Mukhamedkyzy, as well as ethnic music bands and the Astana Ballet Theater troupe, who will introduce the audience to the musical heritage and traditions of Kazakhstan.

“I believe that foreigners are most interested in Kazakhstan’s natural beauty, landscapes and purity. The country boasts many gorgeous places. We are now going to the theater stage to carry out a sound check. It is certainly a great responsibility to represent and promote the current level of the Kazakh culture at this prestigious classical theater,” said Roza Rymbayeva, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan.

“To date, there are over 280 registered participants from China, indicating the country’s strong interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan. We share common borders and are very accessible to Chinese tourists. The forum will feature two panel sessions. The first one will discuss establishing organized bilateral tourism, while the second one will focus on issues and prospects of investment potential,” said Yerzhan Yerkinbayev, Kazakh Vice Minister of Culture and Sports.
