Kazakhstan’s Academy of Arts is hosting the exhibition entitled ‘Melody of the Great Steppe’ to mark its 15th anniversary. Our correspondents attended the opening of the exposition, where they got acquainted with the unique work of the best artists of the country.
Over 150 paintings, more than 30 graphic works and architectural tablets were displayed at the exhibition, which has become a visual collaboration of the work created by the people involved in the Academy of Arts. At present, the art community unites not only Kazakh artists, but also the compatriots living in the countries of Central Asia, CIS, Europe and the U.S.
“It brings together artists of different fields who work in different genres. Besides that, it includes archaeologists, architects and writers. The public fund ‘Academy of Arts’ represents figures of different cultural fields. The main objective of the Academy of Arts is to unite different representatives who are working to revive and develop our Kazakh culture and support them,” Kaliolla Akhmetzhan, member of Kazakhstan Academy of Arts, said.
Colleagues from neighboring countries also congratulated Kazakh artists on the anniversary. Andrey Bliok, on behalf of the Russian Academy of Arts, presented certificates of merit and medals to the eminent Kazakh artists. Bliok showcased his own works as well.
“I brought two works to the exhibition that I made in 2016. One of them is called ‘Miracle in the Steppe’ and shows a magnificent view of Astana. The second one depicts the Hazrat Sultan Mosque interior. I am happy to have this opportunity to present these works again in Astana after seven years to the 15th anniversary of my beloved Academy of Arts. It is a dream team indeed. All the artists help each other, always invite each other to various events. All this brought us closer together, we are like a family now,” Andrey Bliok, corresponding member of Russian Academy of Arts, said.
The exhibition will run for a month. It unveils the unique and rare exhibits, including paintings, graphics, sculptures, arts and crafts, as well as architectural works.
