Kazakhstan plans to launch a unified information system for
the construction sector by the end of the year. The new platform will integrate
all existing industry portals and operate as a one-stop service, providing
up-to-date information—from urban planning to project commissioning. The
digitalization of the construction sector and the urban planning cadastre was
discussed by the government. The system currently covers urban development
projects in 89 cities and more than 90% of engineering infrastructure. A shared
construction registry has been created, and a unique facility identification
number is being introduced to ensure end-to-end verification of documents from
project initiation to commissioning. Artificial intelligence will also be used
to monitor illegal construction across the country.
«If discrepancies are detected in approved urban development
projects, the system will generate a notification to the state architectural
and construction control authorities to take the necessary measures. This
technology will serve as an additional tool for identifying unauthorized
construction without proper documentation. The pilot project is expected to be
completed this year, with plans to legally formalize and expand the technology
to the regions in 2026,» said Kuandyk Kazhkenov, Kazakh Vice Minister of
Industry and Construction.
