New amendments in the field of customs are expected in Kazakhstan, which will allow not only to enhance the effectiveness of the customs authorities, but also to reduce the time for the provision of public services in general. Today members of Senate, Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament, approved on second reading a draft law on amendments and additions to some legislative acts of Kazakhstan on customs regulation and entrepreneurial activity. Chairperson of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev said that the adopted document is primarily aimed at improving the business climate in the country.
“The law will improve the functioning of the customs information base and the “Single window” system, as well as reduce corruption risks by minimizing human involvement. Informatization of systems will reduce the time required for consideration and decision-making on applications from participants in foreign economic activity. In addition, the procedure will be revised for conducting internal and external customs checks. We expect that the law will help improve customs regulation,” said Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairperson of Senate, Upper House of Kazakh Parliament.
