Kazakhstan is adopting new water-saving
technologies. A plant to produce center pivot and linear irrigation machines
has been launched in the Turkistan region. It was built in an industrial zone,
with all necessary support and tax incentives provided to the local investor.
The mostly automated production facility spans 3,000 square meters. The
sprinklers come in various sizes, up to one kilometer in length. According to
the regional governor’s office, this smart equipment can irrigate numerous
hectares of crops while reducing water usage fivefold, leading to significant
cost savings for farmers.
«One fourth of the entire irrigation system
of our country is located in the Turkistan region, which is why we decided to
build a plant. We have already constructed the first for the sprinkler system;
it is the only one in Kazakhstan,» Turkistan region governor Darkhan Satybaldy
said.
