Today, Almaty mayor Yerbolat Dossayev informed Kazakh
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about the preliminary results of the city’s
socio-economic development. In the first half of 2024, investments in fixed
assets in Almaty reached nearly 715 billion tenge, marking a 15 percent
increase. Private investors allocated funds to sectors such as manufacturing,
transportation, healthcare, and IT. According to Dossayev, a total of two
trillion tenge is expected to be invested in the city’s economy by year-end.
The Head of State has instructed to focus on developing the manufacturing
sector and further increasing revenues by expanding the share of small and
medium-sized businesses as part of Almaty’s economic diversification efforts.
