The output of small and medium-sized businesses increased by 25.4 percent after the coronavirus recession and amounted to more than 17.5 trillion tenge (US$40.8 billion), reported finprom.kz. Small businesses account for a significant part of the output of all products. Profit in this sector amounted to 12.4 trillion in local currency (US$28.9 billion). In medium-sized business, revenue added up to 3.4 trillion tenge (US$7.9 billion). The rest of the income comes from individual entrepreneurs and peasant farms. The annual growth in the SME sector is observed in almost all regions of Kazakhstan. Almost half of the production volume falls on Almaty and Nur-Sultan.
