In the lead-up to the SCO Summit,
a series of meetings within the Organization will be held in Astana this week.
On June 19 and 20, video conference meetings of the heads of ministries and departments
on science and technology, as well as transport ministers of the SCO member
states, will take place. There are plans to cover issues of scientific and
technical cooperation, as well as to adopt a Concept for Partnership in the
Development of Ports and Logistics Centers at the events organized at
Kazakhstan’s initiative. Moreover, a meeting of the SCO Youth Council to
address crucial issues of youth leadership in the ecological environment will
be held in Astana on June 20. On June 21, the Kazakh capital will host the SCO
Energy Ministers Meeting.
«SCO Energy Ministers will consider and adopt the Strategy for the Development of Energy Cooperation between the SCO Member States until 2030 initiated by Kazakhstan. Delegation leaders will also discuss strategic approaches to the advancement of energy cooperation as part of the Organization», said Aibek Smadiyarov, spokesperson for the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
