Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are set to increase mutual trade turnover up to US$10 billion. As of today, according to the indicators over 10 months of this year, it reached almost 3 billion in US currency. This trade value is almost 33 percent more than the figure for the same period last year. According to analysts, exports made up the bulk of the trade turnover, which is 72.5 percent. It has grown to US$2.2 billion since the beginning of the year. Imports exceeded US$833 million in US currency. The goods that are sent to Uzbekistan include wheat, flour, industrial products, various ores and minerals, textiles and plastic materials. Kazakhstan, in turn, receives confectionery, lime, gypsum, medicines, fertilizers and clothes from this country. There are currently about 1,500 Uzbek-owned enterprises operating in Kazakhstan, which is 18 percent more than a year earlier. Most of them are involved in the wholesale and retail trade.
