State Counsellor Erlan Karin highlighted the key
points of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s address at the 80th session of the
UN General Assembly. Karin emphasized that the Head of State outlined the major
challenges of our time - ranging from the crisis of trust and militarization to
the risks of a technological divide. These challenges require collective and,
most importantly, systemic responses from the international community.
Particular attention was given to UN reform. The President also proposed
solutions, including the expansion of the Security Council and strengthening
the role of Middle Powers. The main idea of the speech was the formation of a
new world order based on trust, justice, and cooperation. Karin stressed that
from the UN rostrum the President clearly defined Kazakhstan’s position as a
strong and responsible participant in international relations, a country that
serves as a bridge in diplomacy, transit, energy, and technology.
