Last weekend, the Jibek Joly TV channel aired the seventh episode of the Silk Way Star contest. The contestants performed well-known Kazakh folk songs. Based on the results, Michelle Joseph from Mongolia and Yazmin Aziz from Malaysia shared first place with their performances of Karatorgai and Sugirdin Termesi. After all stages of the competition, Michelle Joseph topped the overall ranking, while singer Tamga from Kyrgyzstan left the show.
«I truly tested myself and achieved what I wanted —
both from the program and from my own efforts. I’m satisfied with my
performance and expect even greater success in the future. For me, this
experience was part of challenging myself — to see myself in a different role
and to meet new people. And of course, as this is a Kazakh project, I wanted to
show my support for Kazakhstan,» said Tamga.
