The Holy Quran, silver jewelry, kitchen utensils and other valuable relics of the 19th century were presented at an exposition in the new museum of ethnography, which opened in Pavlodar. The fact that all the exhibits were collected by residents of the region makes it unique. Among them are items from exotic countries, including headdresses of African tribes.
“The uniqueness of the exposition of the ethnographic museum is that it displays new exhibits and ethnographic materials collected during visits to the villages in Pavlodar region. That’s why it is special. This is a display of highly valuable exhibits,” said ethnographer Yenlik Abeuova.
“First we collected exhibits, and then looked for a building for the museum. Every artifact in the spirit world has a deep history. Most of them belong to the Kazakh people. Exhibits that reveal the secrets of the life and culture of many nationalities living in our country are presented here. In the future, the museum will become a spiritual, cultural and educational center,” added Alexander Werwekin, Director of the House of Geography.
At present, there are more than 200 ethnic exhibits in the museum’s collection. A public library with 5,000 books is available there as well.
