The world is currently facing severe climate change
challenges, bringing environmental safety to the forefront. Addressing this
issue requires a comprehensive approach and the involvement of all parties, as
it is interconnected with all aspects of life. This was stated by Senate
Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev during a meeting with agricultural producers,
teachers, and employees of municipal enterprises in the Abai region. Members of
the People's Headquarters also addressed the issue of ensuring environmental
safety within the upcoming referendum on the construction of a nuclear power
plant. Ashimbayev emphasized the need to find effective solutions to reduce
environmental damage without compromising the energy sector. Business
representatives, teachers, and the public also expressed the importance of
addressing environmental issues and the energy shortage in the country.
«It can be confidently stated that the decision to
hold a referendum is a real example of the implementation of the Listening
State concept - a state that aims to get the people's opinion. We hope that
your region will support this initiative and participate in the referendum on
October 6» said Maulen Ashimbayev,
Chairperson of the Senate, the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament.
