Kazakh President receives Defense Minister

Kazakh Minister of Defense Ruslan Zhaksylykov briefed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, on the state of combat readiness of the army. He also discussed the training of management bodies and personnel. During the meeting, the importance of effective interaction between the Armed Forces and central and local authorities in crisis situations, including during the flood control period, was emphasized. President Tokayev was also informed about the equipment of the Armed Forces with modern technology and armament, the development of territorial defense forces, and enhancements to military infrastructure. Zhaksylykov also reported on the activities planned for 2024 within Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the SCO and CSTO, as well as on conducting large-scale exercises, including at the international level.
