Representatives from over 40 countries discuss public administration

Representatives from more than 40 countries gathered in Kazakhstan’s capital to discuss the development and introduction of new digital opportunities in public administration. The annual conference of the Astana Civil Service Hub has started in Nur-Sultan. The event is attended by heads of government agencies, experts, scientists, and representatives of major international organizations. For three days, participants will talk about the prospects of introducing digital innovations, the role of internal communications in HR management, and new approaches, solutions and ideas for further transformation of the sector in the current realities. Also, a presentation of several new projects, including international ones implemented by the Astana Civil Service Hub will take place during the conference.

“One of them is a unique project funded by the government of Korea and aimed at capacity-building of civil servants in digital transformation for the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus. Another joint project with the Zerde holding is aimed at finding innovations in public administration. Today we are presenting the first results of a broad overview of payment systems in the civil service. For the first time, we brought together all 15 post-Soviet states and carried out the review of administrative reforms in these countries,” said Alikhan Baimenov, Chairperson, Steering Committee, Astana Civil Service Hub.

The Astana Civil Service Hub has been operating in the capital since 2013. The organization includes 42 member countries and 80 institutional partners.

“We have been cooperating, exchanging experience and studying the world’s best experience for over 8 years now. It is very nice that at the moment, after three countries have founded this hub, more than 40 countries are members of this hub now. This shows the importance of the Astana Civil Service Hub, the great work that this hub carries out in the field of reforms in public administration, particularly, in civil service,” said Bahram Khalilov, Deputy Chairperson, Board of Directors, State Examination Center, Azerbaijan.
