According to Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, about four million passengers used the services of domestic airlines in the first half of 2021. More precisely, Kazakh companies carried about 3.5 million passengers on domestic routes and nearly 500,000 passengers on international routes. Last year, there had been a significant decline in the number of air travellers due to the coronavirus pandemic. Thus, domestic airlines carried more than five million passengers in the 12 months of 2020, which is 27 percent less than in 2019. According to analysts, passenger traffic this year will far exceed these figures, and the number of those who used airline services will surpass seven million.
