President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the successful
referendum on the draft new Constitution during a telephone conversation.
According to Mirziyoyev, the referendum results demonstrated citizens’
confidence in the large-scale reforms being implemented under Tokayev’s leadership. The Head of State thanked his counterpart for the support and for
sending an observer mission from Uzbekistan, including representatives participating through international
organizations. He noted that the new Constitution is aimed at the state’s
sustainable and comprehensive development. The leaders emphasized the positive
dynamics of Kazakh-Uzbek relations and agreed to continue cooperation at all
levels. They also exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues.
