Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia hold informal meeting in Moscow

An informal meeting between Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin took place at the Kremlin. President Tokayev, who is on a state visit to Moscow, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized that cooperation between the two countries reflects a strategic partnership. During the conversation, the Russian leader noted that a number of issues of particular interest to both sides would be discussed in an informal setting.

«I have felt the full warmth of the welcome here in the Russian capital. As for our bilateral cooperation, it is characterised by strategic partnership and allied relations. There is not a single area where we do not interact or work together. There are no serious issues between our countries. If any arise, which is natural, they are resolved through the efforts of the heads of state and, of course, the governments. I was very pleased to accept your invitation,» President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted.

«Dear Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich, good evening! First of all, I would like to thank you for finding the time to come, as we agreed, on a state visit. I am sincerely pleased by this. Of course, we remain in constant contact, but such protocol matters also carry weight in interstate relations. Today, we will have the opportunity to discuss all issues of particular interest in an informal setting, and tomorrow, together with our colleagues, we will address the full agenda of our bilateral relations and, of course, consider future prospects,» President Vladimir Putin said.
