Facilitating the execution of key reforms
and strategic programs in Kazakhstan will be managed by a new project office in
Astana, located on the EXPO campus. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited this
new facility, which is modeled after similar centers in the UK and Malaysia.
The project office will focus on developing effective solutions for
implementing the necessary tasks outlined in the President’s addresses and the
National Development Plan. Tokayev was briefed on strategically important
projects, with a particular emphasis on enhancing human capital, fostering
economic development in the Mangystau region, and executing platform solutions
to increase fiscal sustainability. Special interdepartmental teams will address
areas such as transport and logistics, healthcare, energy, construction, and
digitalization. The President emphasized that the primary goal of this center
is to enhance the effectiveness of reforms.
«We have significant tasks ahead. The most
important thing is to keep special control over the implementation of the Head
of State’s directives. The primary objective of this center is to enhance the
effectiveness of reforms. This initiative will be led by First Deputy Head of the
Presidential Administration Darkhan Satybaldy. Ministers, mayors, and governors
must be prepared to make bold decisions. Previously, I outlined specific tasks
for the Government. In matters of the country’s socio-economic development,
they must take independent action,» the President said.
Tokayev highlighted digitalization,
artificial intelligence (AI), and nuclear energy as key strategic areas for the
country’s development. The government needs to take these important issues into
account in its work. The President also drew attention to the prospects for the
development of nuclear energy.
«We need to accelerate the construction of
nuclear power plants. As I mentioned in an interview, we will build two large
stations, possibly three. We must transform Kazakhstan into a nation with
advanced nuclear energy, where AI thrives, and digitalization is fully
implemented,» Tokayev added.
