Kazakhstan is strengthening trade and economic cooperation with its key partners - Russia, China, the U.S., and Japan. With Russia, the priority remains increasing mutual trade turnover and developing industrial cooperation. Collaboration with China is focused on expanding transit and logistics. With the U.S., efforts are underway to attract investment, implement projects in rare earth metals, navigation and transport technologies, as well as to access new export markets. Meanwhile, cooperation with Japan places an emphasis on expanding trade, including the supply of niche and organic Kazakh products to the Japanese market. Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev spoke about the development of trade and economic relations.
«Speaking about cooperation with Russia, our goal is to increase mutual
trade turnover to $30 billion. Next year, we will also assume the chairmanship of
the Eurasian Economic Union. We have specific projects focused on industrial
cooperation and agriculture, as well as transport and logistics. We are
leveraging Kazakhstan’s potential, including the North–South transport corridor
and the Middle Corridor. As for Japan, specific agreements worth around $3
billion have been signed. With the U.S., we also have major agreements in place,» Arman Shakkaliyev
noted.
