Foreign diplomats discuss Kazakhstan’s tourism potential

Kazakhstan’s tourism industry holds enormous potential—a fact recognized by both professional experts and travelers. There are opportunities to develop and promote various types of tourism, including outdoor, adventure, ecological, and even gastronomic tourism. Former U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan Daniel Rosenblum shares this view. The diplomat admitted that the national dish, beshbarmak, was a remarkable culinary discovery for him, and upon returning to the U.S., he would miss its unique taste. Over the years of his work in Kazakhstan, Daniel Rosenblum visited all regions, exploring historical and archaeological sites, as well as popular tourist routes. The diplomat shared his impressions and personal travel experiences in Kazakhstan with the head of the Kazakh Tourism National Company.

«My knowledge of Kazakh geography is probably even better than American. I’d say one of them was a recent trip last fall to Oral. I visited an orchard, and it’s operated by a husband and wife who are scientists and researchers. They are growing varieties of apples and grapes, that are unique species. Their goal is to preserve the diversity, it’s about biodiversity. We just picked the fruit of the tree, and it was delicious beyond anything I can describe,» said Daniel Rosenblum.
