Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Mazhilis
Chairperson Yerlan Koshanov, who briefed him on the legislative activities of
the lower house of Parliament. Since the start of the session, 31 laws have
been adopted and sent to the Senate, 15 of which have been signed by the Head
of State. These include the Budget Code, laws on exchange trading, tougher
penalties for drug offenses, the introduction of the Keleshek Unified Voluntary
Savings System, and others. 71 draft laws are currently under consideration.
Work is ongoing on the Tax, Water, Construction, and Digital Codes, as well as
other draft laws. Koshanov also reported on the results of the work in the area
of parliamentary diplomacy.
