President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received a report on Almaty’s socio-economic development during his working trip to the city. According to Almaty mayor Yerbolat Dossayev, budget revenues increased by 55 percent in the first two months of 2024, while investments surged to 190 billion tenge. Tokayev was apprised of seismic safety measures, with plans for conducting seismic audits on over 13,000 buildings this year and introducing the Mass Alert system in pilot mode by June 1. The President also discussed seismic safety with director of the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research Daulet Sarsenbayev, who reported on the modernization of 11 out of 16 city stations and the opening of an additional 25 observation points.
