Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has been briefed on the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection’s performance over the past year and the first five months of 2026. Minister Askarbek Yertayev reported that all state social obligations are being fulfilled in a timely manner and in full. Nearly 6 trillion tenge was allocated for pensions and social benefits in 2025, while over 2.5 trillion tenge has been disbursed since the beginning of this year. More than 200,000 people have found employment nationwide. This year, the objective is to increase the number of permanent jobs to 3 million. In addition, pilot projects for a Digital Employment Service will be launched in the Mangystau and Pavlodar regions as part of efforts to introduce artificial intelligence technologies. The Head of State issued a series of directives on further digitalization of the sector, protection of workers’ rights, and support for citizens. Tokayev stressed that all measures should be focused on improving the well-being of the population.

employment. Overall, more than 201,000 people have found employment nationwide,
including around 75,000 young people. As part of this work, the widespread
introduction of digital solutions and the use of artificial intelligence are
planned. I reported on the digitalization of labor relations. To date, 6.7
million labor contracts have been concluded in electronic format. Moreover,
systematic efforts are underway to prevent workplace injuries and incidents,» Yertayev said.
